Silicon Carbide is produced in resistance furnace, where exact mixtures of petroleum coke and siliceous sand are burnt Silicon Carbide arise by increasing of crystals in the core of furnace during smelting. 
After cooled, furnace is disassembled, material is sorted and according to the quality is classified to material suitable for a production of abrasive grains and material suitable for metallurgy. 
Silicon Carbide is an effective slag deoxidizer, as well as an excellent source of silicon and carbon. Its low aluminum, sulfur and nitrogen content make it a very cost effective material to replace Ferro silicon or Silicon manganese.
